Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, or marketing preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in communication or marketing preferred
  • Experience in destination marketing and knowledge of Indianapolis highly desirable
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and business communications
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work non-routine hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, or marketing preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in communication or marketing preferred
  • Experience in destination marketing highly desirable
  • Strong writing, strategic communication, and public speaking skills desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet browsers, and email systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work hours

Job Duties

  • Assist with creative concept development and execution of key customer events
  • Aid in planning and preparation for annual sales missions in Chicago and Washington DC
  • Support budgeting processes including development, management, and reconciliation
  • Manage RFP processes and negotiate with vendors for event rentals, catering, entertainment, and other components
  • Assist with advance logistics for industry trade show booth activations and customer events
  • Support management of customer familiarization trips for major sporting and cultural events
  • Assist marketing efforts to attract customers and stakeholders to events
