Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • four years of experience in event planning and management preferably in municipal or government settings
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • familiarity with city codes and National Fire and Safety Codes
  • skills in organizing multi-faceted event logistics
  • ability to coordinate work of others
  • knowledge of traffic and parking procedures associated with large events
  • ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • knowledge of building and facility management

Job Qualifications

  • expertise in planning and managing a variety of events
  • familiarity with equipment used in special events and meetings
  • understanding of traffic and parking procedures for large events

  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Job Duties

  • Coordinates event activities with organizers and promoters to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • assists with events, productions, educational conferences, training meetings, airport operations, and special events
  • conducts facility tours for prospective clients and develops marketing materials
  • manages event spaces scheduling, set up, and tear down
  • inspects and evaluates facilities for event usage ensuring compliance with City and safety codes
  • oversees planning, organizing and implementation of festivals and special events including equipment use and logistics troubleshooting
  • plans and monitors parking, security and public information to meet safety needs
  • briefs staff and clients on event details and maintains event databases and reporting systems
  • negotiates terms and processes payments for event-related contracts and vendors
  • executes event contracts from drafting to final execution
  • performs other work as assigned
