Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of event management experience
  • Proven event management work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and coordination skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in event management
  • Proven work experience in event management roles
  • Preferred certifications such as CSEP, CMP, or CMM
  • Excellent listening, speaking, and writing communication skills
  • Attention to detail in all event aspects
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain interpersonal relationships
  • Experience managing multiple events and event budgets
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work diplomatically and tactfully
  • Confidence in strategic decision-making and problem-solving
  • Customer-focused attitude and responsiveness
  • Experience in pre and post-event analysis
  • Ability to maintain vendor and venue relationships

Job Duties

  • Schedule events in designated venues including client menu selection and cost estimation with caterers
  • Coordinate event planning and execution for on and off campus venues managing setup to cleanup
  • Collaborate with university departments like Student Involvement, Advancement Operations, Deans, and Provost Offices
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Complete weekly event staffing schedules and monitor labor costs
  • Assist clients with event management and recommend venues and vendors
  • Oversee event registration logistics and ensure proper setup as per client requests
