Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, food and beverage, or business administration
- minimum 3 years of event management experience
- proven track record in event coordination
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to multitask and manage multiple events
- proficiency in budget management
- excellent interpersonal skills
- strong organizational abilities
- capacity to work flexible hours as needed
- experience supervising temporary and contingent staff
- attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- ability to maintain professional relationships with vendors and clients
- knowledge of event marketing and promotion
- capacity to develop contingency plans and manage unexpected situations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, food and beverage, or business administration
- 3+ years experience in event management
- proven experience in an event management role
- experience in university conference center or student union management preferred
- certifications such as CSEP, CMP, or CMM preferred

Job Duties
- Schedules events in designated venues
- client menu selection and costing
- coordinates university staff and equipment rentals
- manages event teams and production consultants to produce events
- coordinates event planning and execution including setup and cleanup
- collaborates with university leadership
- establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external partners
- completes weekly event staffing and labor cost monitoring
- assists clients with event management and vendor recommendations
- oversees event registration logistics
- ensures proper event setup
- inventories event supplies monthly
- provides managerial oversight of activities
- devises decorative recommendations
- manages event communications, marketing, and advertising
- hires and oversees temporary and contingent staff
- approves timesheets for contingent event staff
