Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, Business Administration, Facility Management or related field
- Three years professional management experience preferably in theatre arts, live entertainment or corporate meeting business
- Ability to work extended periods of walking and standing
- Ability to climb stairs and respond rapidly to emergency situations
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Flexible hours depending on event schedule
- Ability to multi-task and solve problems under pressure
- Experience in a union environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, Business Administration, Facility Management or a related field
- Three years of increasingly responsible professional management experience, preferably in theatre arts, live entertainment and/or corporate meeting business
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in professional performing arts and/or event management
- Extensive experience managing professional stage productions and/or complex, high profile events
- Organized and adept at problem solving under pressure
- Experience working in a union environment
- Proven ability to function effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Proven ability to build and manage long term relationships and collaborate with a wide range of individuals
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and CAD or Visio
- Ability to learn and use in-house event management system (Momentus)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Passion for the performing arts
Job Duties
- Analyze and determine event specific client event requirements
- Inform clients about McCaw Hall and Seattle Center policies, procedures, requirements, resources and associated costs relating to their event
- Ensure that Seattle Center staff have timely, complete and accurate event schedules and requirements
- Coordinate and direct Seattle Center personnel engaged in providing event services and support including stage, sound, maintenance and admissions staff
- Act as event liaison with Seattle Police and Fire Departments
- Respond to and resolve non-routine client concerns and problems
- Create pre-event cost estimates, create event orders and post event labor and equipment bills, and disseminate information to the applicable Seattle Center departments
- Serve as McCaw Hall Manager on Duty for events as assigned
- Work effectively in strong cross-functional relationships within Seattle Center and with our Resident Tenants (the Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Seattle Opera)
- Participate in Event Management planning and take responsibility for assigned special projects and facility initiatives
- Serve as a Seattle Center Duty Manager
