Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years experience in event management or related hospitality role
- proven leadership experience
- availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- effective communication abilities
- ability to manage budgets and analyze financial information
- commitment to uphold sanitation and safety standards

- Prior event management experience
- knowledge of Marriott or similar hospitality brand a plus
- leadership experience managing teams
- strong communication and interpersonal skills

- financial acumen to manage budgets and analyze operational costs

Job Duties
- Manage events department consisting of set-up team, servers, and bartenders
- demonstrate Concord and Renaissance brand values in daily leadership, maintaining positive, effective, and efficient environment
- conduct function review with sales team and/or client, adjust specifications as necessary, and perform follow-up to ensure all details are correct
- select, train, supervise, develop, and counsel associates
- schedule the department to business volume
- manage time and attendance
- analyze financial and operating information regularly to adjust labor, supplies, materials, and other costs to achieve budget
- prepare and adhere to departmental budget
- ensure function rooms are set-up in accordance with customer satisfaction by supervising set-up staff and inspecting function rooms
- assure proper sanitation and hygiene techniques with staff
- inspect function rooms regularly to maintain excellent condition
- provide skills training to associates for value-added guest service
- initiate purchase orders for event items when necessary
- ensure readiness and compliance for last-minute event order changes
- assure quality of food and beverage products
- collaborate closely with sales team and participate in client site visits as needed
- develop processes and service standards to maximize event satisfaction scores
- ensure compliance with Renaissance meetings and events brand standards
- assist in food and beverage management functions property-wide, including acting as manager on duty in restaurant as needed
- perform duties of direct reports as needed
