Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • five years of responsible experience in events or related maintenance
  • two years of supervisory experience
  • valid Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License or equivalent and ability to obtain CDL within six months
  • flaggers certificate
  • ability to use hand tools and heavy equipment
  • capability to follow complex written and oral instructions
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work variable schedules including weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks
  • ability to respond to emergency situations
  • valid driving record

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • five years of progressively responsible experience in events or related maintenance work
  • two years of experience in crew leader or supervisory role
  • valid Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License or valid Colorado Driver's License with ability to obtain CDL within six months
  • flaggers certificate
  • knowledge of use and operation of heavy equipment such as backhoe, dump truck, bobcat, snow plow, skid steer, loader, excavator, and grader
  • ability to understand complex instructions
  • supervisory skills including training, motivation, scheduling, performance review, and personnel management
  • record keeping and report preparation skills
  • effective English communication skills
  • ability to develop and maintain departmental policies and goals
  • ability to build effective relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • ability to read and interpret maps and drawings
  • emergency response capability
  • flexibility for variable schedules including overtime and on-call shifts

Job Duties

  • Pre-event preparation including event layout, verifying cleanliness of restrooms, unlocking doors, turning on lights, and conducting final building walkthroughs
  • assist with special events and traffic control as needed
  • respond to customer inquiries and complaints
  • perform routine safety checks of equipment and minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • conduct safety meetings with staff
  • operate heavy and light duty equipment for maintenance and construction tasks
  • perform general accounting duties such as processing purchase orders and invoices, assist with budget preparation and spending coordination
  • perform heavy labor including use of hand tools, light power equipment, and heavy construction and maintenance equipment
  • perform snow removal activities by hand or using equipment
  • handle hazardous materials and chemicals, including use of respirators
  • participate in hiring, training, and evaluation of seasonal staff
  • construct wood, concrete, and miscellaneous facilities using carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical wiring
  • perform related work as assigned
