Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • at least 2 years of relevant event planning or management experience
  • ability to travel regularly to support events in various locations
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work independently without supervision
  • no driver's license required
  • willingness to uphold university values of integrity and professionalism

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • relevant experience of at least 2 years in event management or related fields
  • familiarity with the mission of Advancement Programs
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, alumni, parents, and volunteers
  • strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships
  • ability to work independently and stay task-oriented
  • honesty, integrity, and strong work ethic
  • experience in higher education, preferably in a complex university environment, is preferred
  • proficiency in event development, event management software, Microsoft Office, project management, and professional communication

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage special events within University Advancement, providing strategic oversight and support as needed
  • work closely with the Special Events and University Ceremonies team and Eliot Society Experience team to ensure seamless event execution and meaningful donor experiences
  • oversee event planning activities including contract negotiations, reserving event space, creating invitations, managing invitation data, coordinating mail projects, creating timelines and logistical plans
  • assist with securing speakers, creating seating plans, preparing briefing materials and talking points for university leadership
  • perform other duties as assigned
