Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years experience in event management including in-person and virtual events
  • 1-3 years experience in written communications or an undergraduate degree in a related field
  • bachelor’s degree required
  • demonstrated success in increasing engagement for managed assets
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and Zoom webinar hosting
  • exceptional writing skills for professional and social media audiences

Job Duties

  • Manage all administration and coordination for both in-person and virtual events including vendor management
  • Serve as on-site event manager for CMU Energy Week including registration, vendor relations, and event logistics
  • Draft communications for meetings, seminars, and partner outreach
  • Support engagement with external partnerships through planning, meeting coordination, and reporting
  • Foster excellent working relationships with faculty, alumni, staff, and volunteers
  • Develop standard operating procedures and track event metrics to improve effectiveness
  • Adapt event strategies to evolving organizational needs
