Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three or more years experience in event planning and management or equivalent
  • Proven record of high quality event production
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of event planning and public relations procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills
  • Active listening and conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure smooth running and effective event execution
  • Schedule and organize department-sponsored events
  • Define event goals and manage related logistics including budget and vendor coordination
  • Serve as primary contact for event venues and ensure compliance with campus permits
  • Lead training and supervise student event assistants
  • Foster donor relations through tailored event planning and communications
  • Manage large-scale annual events including fall homecoming and commencement
