Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience in event management or related field
  • Or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • At least 1 year experience in event management or related area
  • Ability to manage multiple events and details simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including event days
  • Familiarity with event planning software and tools
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player with leadership potential

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major

Job Duties

  • Preparing all event documentation and coordinating with sales, property departments and customers
  • Ensuring smooth event progression by following established procedures and collaborating with employees
  • Greeting customers during events and transitioning to event operations team
  • Managing billing accuracy and reviewing bills with clients
  • Handling group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Identifying and solving operational challenges with staff and customers
  • Integrating current event management trends and acting as liaison between field salesperson and customer
  • Participating in customer site inspections and assisting sales process
  • Soliciting feedback from property departments to improve event planner experience
  • Delivering excellent customer service and empowering employees
  • Communicating event details verbally and in writing
  • Overseeing customer experience from pre-event through post-event phases
  • Responding to and handling guest problems and complaints
  • Leading formal pre- and post-event meetings
  • Assisting in sales process and revenue forecasting
  • Up-selling products and services
  • Reviewing guest satisfaction and providing feedback to employees
  • Implementing corrective action plans and improving service performance
