Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 - 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • at least 1 year experience in event management or related field
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to handle complex event logistics

  • ability to lead teams and coordinate cross-departmentally

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares all event documentation and coordinates with sales, property departments and customers for service consistency
  • Handles events of average complexity ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
  • Identifies and maximizes revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements
  • Manages group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
  • Acts as liaison between sales and customer through pre-event, event and post-event phases
  • Conducts formal pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Responds to guest problems and complaints ensuring excellent customer service
  • Reviews and ensures billing accuracy with clients
  • Participates in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process
  • Solicits feedback from property departments and integrates improvements into event planning
  • Leads event management teams and coordinates with sales and marketing functions
  • Supports human resources activities including feedback and performance review with employees
