Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience in event management or related field
- Or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
- At least 1 year experience in event management or related professional area
- Full-time availability
- Ability to work on-site at The Westin Cape Coral Resort
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to lead and provide feedback to team
- Ability to handle guest complaints and solve operational challenges
- Commitment to uphold company standards, policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management
- Or 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with at least 1 year experience in event management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple events
- Proficiency in event management best practices
- Customer service orientation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales, operations, and marketing teams
- Basic understanding of billing and revenue forecasting processes
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
- Manage event logistics to ensure seamless event progression
- Greet customers during events and coordinate with the event operations team
- Review and ensure accuracy of billing prior to final billing
- Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
- Identify and resolve operational challenges related to events
- Act as liaison between salesperson and customer throughout event phases
- Participate in customer site inspections and support sales process
- Solicit feedback to improve event planner experience
- Deliver excellent customer service and empower employees
- Communicate event details to customers and staff verbally and in writing
- Oversee customer experience from file turnover through post-event phase
- Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest complaints
- Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings
- Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
- Up-sell products and services during event process
- Review guest satisfaction and provide employee feedback
- Develop and implement corrective action plans
- Collaborate with property staff and customers to solve operational challenges
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
