Job Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event planning
- Minimum three years' experience planning large-scale events, preferably in nonprofit or gala settings
- Ability to pass screenings for criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the company’s insurance policy
- Primarily work indoors with ability to use janitorial and office equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects over 25 lbs
- Strong English proficiency for effective communication
- Full-time availability Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management or related field from an accredited university or college
- Three years’ experience of demonstrable planning of large-scale events
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with external and internal partners
- Prior/current expertise working for a nonprofit organization with fundraising responsibilities
- Hands on experience with event management software such as RE NXT or similar donor database
- Adaptability to adjust approaches based on varying needs, settings, and schedules
- Collaboration skills to build strong relationships with partners, internal teams, and community resources
- Strong communication skills for clear and professional interaction with diverse audiences
- Knowledge of fundraising, charitable giving, and donor relations
Job Duties
- Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of all BGCMD special events
- Provide excellent customer service and serve as a key point of contact for sponsors, donors, and volunteers
- Collaborate across departments to align event goals with BGCMD’s overall brand, communications, and development strategy
- Set measurable participation, revenue, and benefit-fulfillment goals, while developing and managing event budgets, revenue, and expenses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, vendors, and partners, overseeing solicitation communications, tracking, and follow-up
- Manage all event logistics, including registration, attendee tracking, donation procurement, auctions, and post-event evaluation
- Ensure accurate data management and reporting through effective use of databases and tracking tools
