Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in relevant major
  • At least 1 year experience in event management or related area
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work full time on-site at Gaylord Texan Resort
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Customer service mindset
  • Leadership capability
  • Proficiency with standard office and event management software

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management or related field
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with at least 1 year experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems
  • Knowledge of event planning and coordination
  • Experience working in hospitality or event management
  • Leadership skills and ability to lead teams
  • Customer service oriented
  • Proficiency with event management software and tools

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers to ensure high-level service
  • Manage event logistics to ensure seamless event progression
  • Greet customers during events and facilitate hand-off to operations teams
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges with property staff and customers
  • Act as a liaison between sales personnel and customers throughout event phases
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
  • Solicit feedback from property departments to enhance event planner experience
  • Deliver excellent customer service and empower employees to do the same
  • Coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing
  • Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post-event phase
  • Follow up with customers post-event and resolve guest problems
  • Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
  • Up-sell products and services during event process
  • Review guest satisfaction results and provide feedback
  • Implement corrective action plans and improve service performance
  • Perform other duties as required to meet business needs
