Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated work experience
- Three to five years’ experience organizing and executing successful fundraising events
- Experience training and supervising volunteers
- Minimum three years administrative experience
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and insurable driving record
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Commitment to the mission and high animal care standards of Cleveland APL
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Social media expertise
- Knowledge of donor database software preferred.
Job Qualifications

- Social media expertise and knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, Instagram
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge donor database, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and One Cause preferred
- Three to five years’ experience organizing and executing successful fundraising events

Job Duties
- Plan and execute fundraising events including the annual Fur Ball gala, telethons, and donor recognition events
- Support board-approved stewardship events
- Establish and monitor event budgets and analyze financial outcomes
- Establish relationships with vendors
- Maintain event files and donor information
- Oversee donor and participant acknowledgement
- Identify and refer donors with potential for major gifts to the Major Gift team
- Collaborate with Communications and Social Media Coordinator to market events
- Develop new event fundraising concepts for long-term growth
- Work with VP of Philanthropy and board to solicit and increase corporate sponsorship for key annual events
- Liaison to hotel representatives for event logistics
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer event committee chairs and volunteers
- Supervise event committee chairs responsible for auction procurement, presentation, decorations, and operations
- Manage auction procurement and database entry
- Prepare printed marketing materials with Marketing & Communications Specialist
- Coordinate virtual presentations and fund-raising integration if necessary
- Work with local TV station to grow telethons and sponsor acknowledgements
- Prepare sponsorship and phone bank banners and acknowledge sponsors on all platforms
- Oversee volunteer execution of assignments during telethons
- Solicit food donations for volunteers and media teams
- Manage broadcast and hospitality room setup for events
- Work with talent and station staff to ensure telethon success
- Ensure phone bank operational status with vendor
- Liaison to community members holding fundraisers
- Review and approve community event applications
- Promote events through social media, website, and e-blasts
- Ensure APL’s mission and message is conveyed clearly at events
- Attend and recruit volunteers for community events
- Monitor accounting and fundraising results
- Oversee board-supported volunteer group’s annual event
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment and animal welfare
- Address safety concerns promptly
- Promote communication and cooperation between APL departments
- Integrate and utilize volunteers whenever possible
- Assist with communications and marketing projects
- Handle online donation services support and troubleshooting.
