Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality or event planning or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in complex event planning and coordination
- flexible to work weekdays, weekends, evenings and some holidays
- First Aid/CPR certified or willing to be certified
- valid driver’s license with no major traffic violations in last three years
- willing to travel locally occasionally
- willing to obtain TIPS/Responsible Vendor Certification
- current negative TB test or willingness to be tested

- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event planning or equivalent
- 3-5 years proven success in complex event planning and coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet frequent deadlines
- detail-oriented and self-motivated
- people management experience with proven managerial skills
- experience negotiating contracts for meeting services and external vendors
- hospitality industry experience helpful
- ability to plan and organize work efficiently and cost-effectively
- ability to adhere to standard operating policies and procedures
- proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Google Calendars
- ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality

Job Duties
- Cultivate new and maintain repeat business in accordance with revenue objectives
- maintain an events calendar of rental activities and planned Zoo events
- update internal and external checklists for all events
- cultivate and maintain close contacts with past and potential clients
- coordinate activities and agendas for each event with cross-functional teams
- develop plans and implement strategies with marketing to meet or exceed event revenue goals
- develop budgets and fundraising objectives with Operations Manager and monitor results
- ensure sponsorship and event ticket receipts meet targets
- coordinate with licensing authorities for special permits
- ensure venues meet client specifications prior to events
- handle logistical details for Zoo fundraisers including high-profile events
- plan and execute major attendance-driving events
- assist with management of event volunteers
- coordinate and facilitate event committees and meetings
- manage event staff including bartenders, security, and parking staff
- oversee alcohol purchase and sales for all events
- hire and manage outsourced bartending and security staff
- perform other duties as assigned
