Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- At least 1 year experience in event management or related field
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales, property departments, and customers
- Professional demeanor and customer service orientation
- Problem-solving ability
- Proficiency with event management software considered a plus
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1 to 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management or related field
- Experience managing events of average complexity
- Strong knowledge of event logistics and operations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate event management teams
- Familiarity with sales processes and revenue forecasting
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest complaints professionally
- Ability to use judgment and expertise to enhance customer experience
- Experience with billing accuracy and conducting bill reviews
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers
- Manage event logistics and ensure seamless progression by following established procedures
- Greet customers during event phases and hand-off to Event Operations team
- Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients
- Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for average to large-sized groups
- Identify operational challenges and collaborate with staff and customers to develop solutions
- Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- Deliver excellent customer service and empower employees to do the same
- Set positive examples for guest relations and coordinate event details verbally and in writing
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post-event phases
- Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest problems and complaints
- Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- Facilitate various necessary meetings such as Banquet Event Order meetings and block reviews
- Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
- Up-sell products and services
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
- Provide feedback to improve service behaviors
- Assist in development and implementation of corrective action plans
- Work with property staff and customers to address operational challenges
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
