Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience in event management or related area
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- at least 1 year experience in event management or related area
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage logistical details and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Ability to lead teams and conduct formal meetings
- Proficiency in billing review and revenue maximization
- Flexibility to work various event schedules
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management or related field
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborations effectively
- Experience in customer service and problem resolution
- Knowledge of current trends in event management and design
- Leadership skills to guide event management teams
- Proficiency in conducting pre- and post-event meetings
- Familiarity with revenue forecasting and up-selling techniques
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers to ensure high-level service
- Handle events of average complexity ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service and back
- Maximize revenue opportunities through up-selling and event enhancements
- Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients prior to finalizing bills
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
- Identify and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with staff and customers
- Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer through all event phases
- Participate in customer site inspections and support sales process
- Deliver excellent customer service and set positive guest relations example
- Coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing
- Oversee customer experience from file turnover through post-event phase
- Respond to guest problems and complaints using personal judgment to enhance experience
- Conduct formal pre- and post-event meetings
- Assist sales and marketing with revenue forecasting and up-selling
- Review employee service behaviors and assist in corrective action plans
- Solicit and integrate feedback for continuous service improvement
