Job Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Education, or related field
- prior experience in event planning or coordination
- proficiency with Google Workspace
- experience with Gmail and Google Calendar
- familiarity with Zoom
- knowledge of event registration or survey tools
- ability to use presentation tools
- strong communication skills
- availability to work onsite for 40 hours per week including evening and weekend shifts
- ability to travel regularly between Chapel Hill office and event venues in Durham and Carrboro
- willingness to spend 2-3 weeks in Washington D.C. for Arrival Orientation sessions
- ability to lift boxes up to 20 lbs
- highly organized with strong attention to detail
- commitment to meeting deadlines
- ability to work with minimal supervision
Job Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Education, or a related field preferred
- prior experience in event planning, coordination, or setup
- proficiency in Google Workspace including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Drive
- experience using Gmail and Google Calendar for scheduling
- familiarity with Zoom for virtual meetings
- basic knowledge of event registration or survey tools such as Google Forms, Cvent, and SignUpGenius
- ability to use presentation tools like Google Slides or Canva
- strong writing, proofreading, and speaking skills
- outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively
- bilingualism is a plus
Job Duties
- Assist full-time staff with day-to-day operations and event planning
- support on-site, fast-paced Arrival Orientation
- provide additional support for future events such as Fall Orientation and other partner or staff events
- help coordinate and conduct hotel arrivals and departures processes for Ambassador Teachers
- set up materials and rooms for events including session setup, meals, and networking events
- assist with drafting event surveys
- support staffing coordination efforts through administrative and organizational tasks
- help review potential venues for upcoming events
- perform other duties as assigned
