Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event management or related field
  • Experience producing live events
  • Knowledge of crowd and emergency management protocols
  • Ability to work variable schedules including nights and weekends
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate contracts
  • Knowledge of university policies and event management best practices
  • Ability to manage budgets and maintain productivity despite interruptions
  • Must pass background check
  • Must comply with university vaccination policy
  • Mandated Reporter training and responsibilities
  • Ability to work in diverse groups including students, staff, faculty, and the public

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of event planning, production, and public relations
  • Experience in producing live events
  • Knowledge of crowd management, safety protocols, and security procedures
  • Skilled in negotiating contracts and proposals
  • Excellent organizational and calendar management skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Experience managing budgets and operational costs
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and manage event logistics including security, parking, box office, usher calls, set up and tear down
  • Support a team of student event services staff through leadership and training
  • Collaborate with student organizations, campus departments, and clients to produce successful events
  • Apply industry best practices to ensure event safety and crowd management
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements in the institution's best interest
  • Maintain effective communication with diverse stakeholders including artists, production personnel, and campus community
  • Manage event calendars and schedules ensuring deadlines and budget constraints are met
