Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum three years’ progressive administrative experience including supervision
- at least one certification or equivalent training/licensure specific to area of expertise
- ability to maintain certifications and licensure as condition of employment
- ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within six months
- valid Ohio driver’s license
- willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
Job Qualifications
- bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, event management, hospitality, marketing, business administration, or a related field
- minimum three years progressively responsible experience in an administrative role including supervision in event management or related field
- possession of at least one relevant certification or equivalent training/licensure
- certified park and recreation professional (CPRP) designation preferred
- demonstrated leadership, relationship management, decision-making, and communication skills
- ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within six months
- valid Ohio driver’s license
Job Duties
- plan, produce, and evaluate community events that align with city mission and values
- oversee event logistics, vendor and sponsor coordination
- manage event staffing and collaborate with marketing
- ensure event safety and inclusiveness
- provide leadership in operational planning and risk management
- ensure fiscal responsibility and exceptional customer service
- collaborate with city departments and external partners to coordinate diverse events
