Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, business administration, or related field preferred
  • minimum 2 years of experience in event planning, coordination, or related sales roles
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when necessary
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • eligibility to work legally in the United States
  • proficiency in event management and scheduling software
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.

Job Duties

  • Maximize restaurant profitability through proper yield management
  • work with Cigars International team and consultants to develop annual marketing plan and 90-day action plan based on current market trends
  • maintain a private event calendar updated daily to aid scheduling and management of events
  • collaborate with management to establish partnerships with area businesses and hospitality leaders to maximize sales revenue
  • conduct site inspections, provide event/product information, and ensure prompt follow-up
  • enter tentative and definite reservations in event management software
  • create a monthly budget for private event sales
  • establish relationships with local restaurants and caterers
  • generate event orders and contract event specifications
  • communicate event details to location departments
  • coordinate with management team to ensure successful event execution
  • act as liaison between management and clients
  • follow up with clients post-event for feedback and future business
  • send event evaluation forms within 48 hours
  • maintain contact with hotel sales departments for leads and referrals
  • build relations with Destination Management Companies via presentations and cold calls
  • maintain contact with local Convention & Visitors Bureaus for group leads
  • participate in professional organizations and association events
  • generate weekly sales activity reports
  • maintain lost business log documenting reasons and revenue lost.
