Job Requirements
- Two years of experience in coordinating a variety of events and activities at a convention center, theater, hotel, or other large public use facility
- Including one year at a supervisory or lead level
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, theater, facility management or a related field
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
- Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings will be required
- All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position

- Customer service experience
- Large event planning experience at a convention center, hotel or other large public use facility
- Experience with computerized event management information systems
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
- Venue Management School Graduate
- Member of the International Association of Venue Managers
Job Duties
- Facilitate and coordinate all event related activities for conventions, trade shows, concerts, festivals, and meetings at the Phoenix Convention Center
- Explain policies and procedures for use of Phoenix Convention Center facilities to clients and the general public
- Advise clients and their contractors on setup options and types of materials needed to achieve desired results
- Prepare checklists of lessee requirements for distribution to all internal support staff and contractors such as sales, event services, electrical and accounting
- Input, retrieve and update event setup information and produce event reports through a computerized event management system
