Job Requirements

  • event planning experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in recreation, hospitality, marketing, communication or related fields preferred
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • knowledge of website Content Management Systems and graphic software preferred
  • effective communication skills
  • excellent organizational and planning abilities
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • valid driver’s license
  • availability for flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • willingness to travel to other locations for work and training

Job Qualifications

  • event planning experience
  • experience in recreation, hospitality, marketing, communication, or related fields preferred
  • solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, website Content Management Systems, Google applications, and social media platforms
  • familiarity with graphic software such as Adobe, Publisher, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent project planning, organization, and strategic planning skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • valid driver’s license
  • flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to travel to regional locations for work and training

Job Duties

  • develop and coordinate all phases of the event planning process including research, design, planning, coordination, and evaluation
  • manage and execute multiple events simultaneously including timelines, production schedules, risk assessment, creative design, vendor and venue management, event team coordination, and logistics management
  • execute on-site and off-site events including event team coordination, event set-up, hosting, event and risk briefings, logistics management throughout the event, and event tear down
  • oversee, review, and process accounting and financial matters related to assigned event budgets including processing invoices, requesting vendor quotes, and managing purchase requests
  • support district teams within the event planning process to ensure successful event experiences
  • develop, design, and create marketing plans and materials such as flyers, website content, social media content, newsletters, banners, posters, emails, event photography, and event registration management
  • collaborate with military organizations, agencies, and businesses on partnership and sponsorship opportunities
  • maintain accurate event folders and records both online and in paper form and submit required items by deadlines
  • support the department through special projects, team collaboration, and collateral duties
  • comply with OSHA safety regulations, local health and safety laws, Fair Housing, and Liberty Military Housing policies
