Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, event planning, project management, marketing and sales, or related field
  • Minimum of two years related experience or equivalent
  • Ability to assist with event budgets and financial tracking
  • Experience in vendor contract negotiation and management
  • Proficiency in coordinating event logistics and vendor communications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to institutional mission, integrity, and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education with a focus in event planning, project management, marketing and sales, or related field
  • Two years of related experience or equivalent
  • Project management skills including critical path and timeline management
  • Budgeting and financial management experience
  • Vendor negotiation and customer service skills
  • Strong client communication and relationship building abilities
  • Problem-solving and risk management capabilities

Job Duties

  • Planning and design by assisting clients, understanding goals, developing concepts, creating detailed event plans, timelines, and floor plans
  • Logistics and coordination by securing venues, booking vendors, and managing event setup
  • Budget and finance management by assisting with event budgets, tracking expenses, pricing services, managing vendor contracts, including completion of MOAs, obtaining COIs, and adherence to KCTCS/HCC policies and procedures
  • Execution and management by supervising event preparation, coordinating support staff, acting as a liaison, handling on-site issues, and ensuring smooth operation
  • Post-event duties by documenting events, conducting postmortem reviews for lessons learned, evaluating results, and presenting reports
  • Other duties as assigned
