Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, hospitality, event planning or related field
  • prior events and/or hospitality experience
  • exceptional written and oral communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degrees in sports management, hospitality, event planning or related field

  • proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • experience supervising or mentoring staff

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate events, camps and conferences of varying complexity
  • serve as liaison between university departments such as catering, facilities, police, and risk management
  • develop and maintain client relationships to encourage repeat business and positive referrals
  • negotiate contracts in collaboration with director and assistant director
  • monitor event compliance with university policies and regulations
  • supervise student staff including house managers, ushers, and event interns
  • serve as on-site manager during events to address technological, catering, maintenance, and client satisfaction issues
  • document and evaluate events and assist with follow-up activities
  • manage business processes related to events including fiscal year revenue and expense projections
  • present a professional image and ensure excellent customer service
  • manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • coordinate with scheduling systems such as Ad Astra and planning pod
  • operate Microsoft suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • identify and improve internal processes
  • maintain and oversee décor database and maintenance
  • oversee ordering and replacement of damaged décor items
  • assist with ticketing system management and client support
  • provide administrative and operational oversight of camps leadership staff
  • lead, coach, and mentor supervisory staff
  • oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies for camp leadership
  • enforce organizational policies and risk management protocols consistently
  • assist in staffing planning and management for student and event staff
  • participate in campus committees and collaborations as assigned
