Job Requirements

  • Intermediate level of experience in event planning
  • Proven experience as an events planner or organizer
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Events Management or related field preferred
  • Proven experience as an events planner or organizer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop volunteer teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Creativity and originality in event planning

Job Duties

  • Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event productions
  • Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to aid decision-making about event possibilities
  • Create event execution plans
  • Develop event resumes and timelines
  • Propose new ideas to improve event planning and implementation
  • Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters
  • Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events
  • Close out all events as required including post-event reviews and thank you notes
  • Manage Dream Teams and facilitate ministry initiatives
  • Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports
  • Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting
  • Manage facility rentals from beginning to end
  • Coordinate appointments and visits to view spaces and schedule events
  • Prepare and modify event contracts
  • Finalize event content including selecting and booking speakers and managing promotional materials
  • Solidify technical requirements including staging, lighting, sound, and multimedia presentations
  • Arrange food and beverage needs
  • Schedule event photographers as needed
  • Determine event staffing and communicate responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a positive Dream Team culture
  • Lead and mentor Dream Team leaders and members
  • Ensure Dream Teams are scheduled and prepared for all events
  • Write and refine event-related policies and procedures
  • Monitor department activities to uphold church culture
  • Conduct regular onsite visits for training and culture maintenance
  • Lead connect groups with teams or church members
