Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event planning, business administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in banquet management, event planning or related hospitality field
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience in banquet or event management
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events and coordinating with multiple departments
  • Strong knowledge of catering and event operations including food and beverage service
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Detail-oriented with ability to meet event specifications and guest expectations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
  • Strong financial management capabilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Manage the planning and execution of all banquet events including weddings, corporate meetings, and parties
  • Collaborate with clients, sales, and catering teams to ensure event specifications and timelines are met
  • Create detailed event schedules, timelines, and floor plans for smooth flow
  • Oversee the set-up, decoration, and breakdown of banquet rooms
  • Supervise and lead banquet staff including servers and bartenders
  • Develop and implement training programs for banquet staff
  • Assign tasks and monitor staff performance during events
  • Ensure all banquet events meet high standards of service, food quality, and presentation
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests professionally
  • Customize event details with clients including menus and room layouts
  • Monitor guest feedback and address areas for improvement
  • Oversee banquet department operations ensuring timely and on-budget event execution
  • Monitor financial performance including revenue, labor costs, and expenses
  • Assist in the preparation of banquet event orders and documentation
  • Control costs by managing labor and minimizing waste
  • Process payments and invoicing for events
  • Coordinate with external vendors ensuring timely and quality service
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors
  • Ensure vendor compliance with health and safety standards
  • Ensure banquet events comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain food and beverage storage and service standards
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety compliance
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized banquet environment
  • Collaborate with marketing team to promote banquet services and events
  • Assist in developing promotional materials and social media content
  • Build relationships with repeat clients and local businesses to encourage bookings
