Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field
- basic skills typically associated with a high school education
- sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to major duties, usually from apprenticeship/internship or one to two years in a similar position
- ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical capability to perform tasks including sitting, standing, bending, crouching, walking, lifting light and occasionally heavy objects
- ability to distinguish between shades of color
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of facilities and grounds maintenance and repair
- knowledge of the principles and practices of audiovisual equipment operation
- skill in the operation of sweepers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners
- skill in problem solving and decision making
- skill in management and supervision
- skill in the performance of landscaping activities
- skill in oral and written communication
Job Duties
- Cleans administrative offices, work rooms, break rooms, and restrooms
- vacuums, dusts, empties trash cans
- cleans toilets, shines mirrors and faucets, cleans sink basins and counters
- sweeps and mops floors
- sets up rooms as assigned
- reviews diagrams
- places tables, chairs, risers, stages, dance floors, podiums, AV equipment, and lighting as designated
- cleans floors
- vacuums and shampoos carpets as needed
- breaks down rooms upon completion of events
- returns all tables, chairs, and other equipment to appropriate storage areas
- cleans main hallways, restrooms, windows, and public use areas
- performs grounds maintenance duties
- picks up trash
- empties ash urns
- cleans windows, polishes door knobs
- pressure washes walkways as needed
- assists other City departments and customers in loading and unloading equipment and supplies
- carries tables, chairs, and boxes to external sites
- performs other related duties as assigned
