Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- 2-3 years experience in event planning nonprofit development or related field
- Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work proactively independently and collaboratively
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Supervisor experience preferred
- Proficiency in the use of computers and databases
- Proven ability to motivate and oversee volunteers
- A valid driver’s license

Job Duties
- Plan coordinate and execute all fundraising events with a growth-driven mindset for net new revenue
- Oversee and support volunteer and donor engagement for community and programmatic events
- Oversee all outreach and solicitation for event raffles and auction
- Solicit Gifts in Kind items professional services and special experiences
- Set goals and provide coaching for the Development Associate
- Develop tracking files to be maintained by the Development Associate
- Coordinate stewardship of event raffle auction donors
- Convene and provide staff support for event specific volunteer groups and committees
- Collaborate with CEO and supervise Development Associate to ensure consistent messaging and branding across event materials
- Oversee event-related reporting including event timelines post-event evaluation reporting and preparation and maintenance of event budget files
- Create and maintain an annual calendar of events to market sponsorship and volunteer opportunities
- Prepare and oversee comprehensive event work plans for staff and volunteers
- Manage contracts and relationships with event vendors
- Partner with CEO and Senior Development Manager to ensure donors are appropriately acknowledged at events
- Create meaningful event experiences that deepen donor connection to the mission
- Recruit train and manage volunteer committees for fundraising and stewardship events
- Recruit coordinate and greet volunteer groups for on-campus projects and team-building days
- Establish relationships with corporate volunteer group organizers
- Develop volunteer leadership opportunities to deepen donor involvement
- Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts
- Oversee volunteer-related reporting
- Coordinate with CEO to repurpose the development committee
- Staff Development committee focusing on event planning event revenue growth community connections and volunteer engagement
- Prepare and submit written Board reports for each Board meeting
- Attend and present at Board meetings as requested by the CEO
- Host and participate in campus and program site tours with donors prospects and partners
- Work with Media PR consulting partner to promote events and campaigns
- Coordinate marketing social media public relations and communications related to fundraising and community events
- Provide content for newsletters related to volunteer and event activity
- Attend relevant training opportunities or join professional industry groups as necessary to maintain professional knowledge certification and licensure
- Adhere to Variety’s security guidelines and ensure appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Facilitate and attend relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals
- Complete special projects specific to the function of the department or as needed for the department as directed by the CEO
- Participate in assigned events that may occur after regular business hours and weekends and flexibility to work non-traditional hours
- Other duties as assigned
