Job Description

The Town Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join their team as Event and Volunteer Coordinators. Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in events management, parks and recreation, hospitality or closely related field
  • Minimum two years of related experience for Coordinator I, four years for Coordinator II, six years for Coordinator III or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License and safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR/AED certification within three months of hire
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during busy event seasons
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills under high performance standards

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Parks and Recreation, Hospitality or closely related field
  • Varying years of experience depending on coordinator level
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR/AED certification within three months of hire
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License and safe driving record
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with event planning and volunteer coordination preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate town events across various facilities
  • Perform onsite event coordination including vendor, volunteer check-in and assignments
  • Assist with special events scheduling, permitting, and oversight
  • Develop content for marketing materials related to town events and programs
  • Lift, carry, transport and set up event equipment and supplies
  • Conduct research to maintain high event standards and plan future events
  • Perform administrative duties like scheduling, budgeting, and reporting
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders
  • Support coordination of volunteer projects including application processing and matching volunteers to projects
  • Oversee onsite logistics for volunteer activities
  • Maintain volunteer records and assist with advisory committee administrative tasks
  • Assist with updating webpages and calendars and organizing advisory committee processes and meetings
