Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation, facility and event management or related field
  • One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Certification in cpr/first aid
  • Forklift certification
  • Valid state of florida driver's license
  • Obtain fema 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 incident command system certifications within 12 months of appointment
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Facility and Event Management or related field
  • One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid
  • Forklift certification
  • Valid state of Florida driver's license
  • Obtain FEMA 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 Incident Command System certifications within 12 months of appointment
  • Knowledge of Parks, Recreation, and Public Facilities Department policies
  • Skilled in facility and event management, marketing, community relations and budgeting
  • Ability to make sound, educated decisions
  • Proficient in supervisory and managerial concepts
  • Capable of employee evaluation and training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of modern office technology and computer applications
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and handle confrontational situations
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety protocols
  • Ability to perform minor equipment repairs and adjustments

Job Duties

  • Supervises all aspects and/or activities for large, public assembly event operations
  • Coordinates and supervises activities at multiple facilities and surrounding properties
  • Assists in development of programs, operations and events
  • Develops partnerships with schools, businesses and community organizations
  • Evaluates and monitors staff day to day activities
  • Evaluates program services, rentals, and other revenue sources
  • Reviews and coordinates work of subordinates
  • Plans and executes private rentals
  • Maintains client relationships
  • May require working nights, weekends, and holidays
