Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation, facility and event management or related field
- One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Certification in cpr/first aid
- Forklift certification
- Valid state of florida driver's license
- Obtain fema 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 incident command system certifications within 12 months of appointment
- Ability to supervise staff
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Facility and Event Management or related field
- One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Certification in CPR/First Aid
- Forklift certification
- Valid state of Florida driver's license
- Obtain FEMA 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 Incident Command System certifications within 12 months of appointment
- Knowledge of Parks, Recreation, and Public Facilities Department policies
- Skilled in facility and event management, marketing, community relations and budgeting
- Ability to make sound, educated decisions
- Proficient in supervisory and managerial concepts
- Capable of employee evaluation and training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of modern office technology and computer applications
- Ability to maintain professional relationships and handle confrontational situations
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety protocols
- Ability to perform minor equipment repairs and adjustments
Job Duties
- Supervises all aspects and/or activities for large, public assembly event operations
- Coordinates and supervises activities at multiple facilities and surrounding properties
- Assists in development of programs, operations and events
- Develops partnerships with schools, businesses and community organizations
- Evaluates and monitors staff day to day activities
- Evaluates program services, rentals, and other revenue sources
- Reviews and coordinates work of subordinates
- Plans and executes private rentals
- Maintains client relationships
- May require working nights, weekends, and holidays
