Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of related work experience
  • Experience in event coordination and logistics
  • Experience with marketing campaigns
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication software
  • Experience with social media platforms

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, military experience, and skills
  • Three to five years of related experience

Job Duties

  • Manage all event logistics, including securing contract services and procurement of supplies
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for events
  • Enforce guidelines and policies for facility use
  • Manage event calendar and schedule event spaces
  • Track event performance metrics and report on success
  • Serve as primary point of contact for event-related correspondence
  • Ensure proper execution of rental contracts and timely fee collection
  • Manage ticketing and event registrations through platforms like Eventbrite
  • Execute elite-level hospitality and customer service
  • Represent Dyer professionally to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Be present at most events and work nights and weekends when needed
  • Create and execute marketing and communications strategies
  • Develop marketing plans for promoting Dyer as a venue
  • Partner on fundraising strategy execution
  • Regularly update and maintain the observatory website
  • Manage social media channels and digital marketing tools
  • Oversee database of digital photo and video assets
  • Analyze communication metrics and provide improvement recommendations
  • Track demographics and entities served using CRM database
  • Assist in project and event budget development and tracking
  • Manage spending and procurement within budget
  • Ensure invoice processing and timely payment
  • Maintain PCI compliance for credit card transactions
  • Oversee proper filing and documentation of contracts and payments
  • Manage Flex employees and volunteers
  • Potentially supervise student workers
  • Report to the Director of the observatory administratively and functionally
