Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, event management, business, education, or related field preferred
- Two years of experience in event planning, project management, fundraising, or school engagement preferred
- Experience in nonprofit or Christian school environment preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times for event setup
- Must be able to traverse campus and assist with event logistics, including setup and teardown
- Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during events or meetings
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for school events
- Must possess a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and verification of work history, academic credentials, licenses, and certifications
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, event management, business, education, or related field preferred
- Two years of experience in event planning, project management, fundraising, or school engagement preferred
- Experience in nonprofit or Christian school environment is preferred
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple events, deadlines, and responsibilities concurrently
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- comfortable engaging with parents, alumni, donors, vendors, and volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to plan events from concept to completion, with attention to detail and guest experience
- Proficiency with event software, communication platforms, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
- Ability to represent SCA professionally and warmly while building positive relationships within the community
- Capable of creative problem-solving, logistical planning, and adapting to last-minute changes
- Ability to think critically, work collaboratively, respect confidentiality, and use data to make informed decisions
- Must be able to work intuitively and independently
- Ability to maintain accurate records, timelines, budgets, and alumni databases
Job Duties
- Display a profound passion for and commitment to the mission and values of SCA, ensuring all interactions and events reflect SCA’s Christian mission, values and goals
- Plan, coordinate, and execute major annual events, including the Annual Gala and Auction, Grandparents Day, New Family Tailgate, Homecoming, Hoopcoming, and other advancement, alumni, and community-building events
- Represent the school positively at all events and serve as a warm and welcoming presence to new families, alumni, donors, and guests
- Develop event timelines, budgets, volunteer needs, vendor relationships, and communication plans
- Work closely with marketing and graphic design team members
- Collaborate with the Advancement team, Principals, Directors, and other staff to support cross-functional initiatives and events
- Support Advancement initiatives by assisting with donor and new family communications
- Oversee event logistics such as venue setup, décor, catering, AV needs, registration, guest flow, and hospitality
- Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers for events and alumni activities
- Troubleshoot concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate event wrap-ups with the goal of continuous improvement
- Manage the alumni database and maintain accurate contact and engagement records
- Support alumni relations by planning reunions, alumni gatherings, communication pieces, and storytelling efforts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni and foster alumni involvement and engagement
