Job Requirements

  • Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with minimum six credit hours in the current or prior semester and planned enrollment for the next semester
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Be at least 21 years old to work in wet sections and hold TAPs certification
  • Complete FERPA, Title IX, Behavior Based Safety, Workplace Harassment Prevention certifications within 30 days of employment
  • Complete Protecting Payment Card Information training annually
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds unaided
  • Able to handle fast-paced, loud, and crowded work environments
  • Provide evidence of enrollment to substantiate employment eligibility

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Enrolled in University of Alaska system with minimum six credit hours
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, preference for above 2.5 GPA
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in customer service and event or guest services preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly
  • Certification or willingness to certify in FERPA, Title IX, Behavior Based Safety, Workplace Harassment Prevention
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Provide guest services and ushering during events
  • Perform ticket scanning and reception duties
  • Assist with crowd control and ensure guest safety
  • Support audiovisual setup and ticketing after required training
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of event spaces
  • Assist with event set-up and break-down activities
  • Operate cashier window including ticket sales and cash handling
  • Monitor and reconcile cash drawer and maintain transaction records
  • Communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • Execute conversion and facility preparation tasks
