Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or driving privilege card
  • Ability and willingness to connect and interact with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to deal with public under potentially adverse circumstances
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, supervisors and other employees
  • One year paid work experience performing event functions at a performing arts theater or equivalent venue
  • Working knowledge of computers and standard office machines
  • Must be responsible, punctual and have the ability to make quick decisions

  • Working knowledge of computers and standard office machines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, supervisors and other employees
  • Must be responsible, punctual, and have the ability to make quick decisions
  • Familiarity with AV equipment such as projectors, speaker systems and computer related media devices is desirable
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is desirable

Job Duties

  • Assist in the setup, facilitation, and teardown of meetings, parties, events and program activities
  • Open and close the facility at the start and end of events and/or daily operations following established procedures
  • Ensure patrons and event organizers leave the facility in satisfactory condition according to rental and/or facility use agreements
  • Positively engage with patrons and participants, help to de-escalate conflicts and ensure rules and safety regulations are followed
  • Greet patrons and take telephone calls at the reception desk to answer questions about campus amenities and services, direct them to campus admin team, staff and resources
  • Provide backup to the Events Coordinator when they are not on site
  • Support and fill in for other campus staff as needed including monitoring the computer lab, performing administrative tasks, and facility management duties
  • Other duties as assigned
