Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Event Management or Performing Arts or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • direct experience in venue operations, including Front of House coordination preferably in a performing arts venue
  • ability to work some evening and weekend hours
  • ability to lift and transport equipment up to 40 pounds
  • strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, web and custom applications
  • excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to manage staff and volunteers
  • willing to undergo criminal background screening

  • excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and web applications

  • ability to lift and transport equipment up to 40 pounds
  • preferred working knowledge of audio/visual systems in an event setting

Job Duties

  • Lead and oversee all FOH operations for assigned News-Journal Center performances and events, ensuring an exceptional patron experience and smooth execution
  • recruit, onboard, and train a highly capable volunteer team for all Front of House positions, fostering a knowledgeable, guest-focused, and service-oriented workforce
  • serve as House Manager for various shows and events, including managing the lobby and audience seating areas, overseeing FOH personnel, addressing patron concerns and completing nightly reports
  • assist NJC Director in scheduling volunteers and paid personnel, including bartenders, custodial services, campus safety, Daytona Beach Police, and additional event support partners
  • partner closely with the Box Office Manager as an operational expert, providing leadership, guidance, and coverage as needed to support seamless ticketing and guest services
  • serve as assistant event contact post booking for designated events as needed, providing hands-on operational support, guiding event flow, ensuring proper venue setup and breakdown, and maintaining proactive, professional communication with clients, internal teams, and production staff
  • develop, maintain, and enforce comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures for all Front of House roles to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to best practices across events
  • oversee and support the proper maintenance, organization, and stewardship of event-related equipment, ensuring readiness and longevity of resources, including submitting work orders as needed
  • ensure the consistent enforcement of venue policies, patron guidelines, and safety regulations during all shows and events to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
  • perform other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee
