Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a culinary or hospitality role
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or relevant culinary leadership role
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Experience managing kitchen staff and large-scale event catering
  • Familiarity with banquet event orders and menu planning

Job Duties

  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in pre-event briefings and post-event reviews to continuously improve operations
  • Review banquet event orders on a daily basis and make note of any changes
  • Lead the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all food items for events, ensuring adherence to established recipes and quality standards
  • Supervise and direct culinary staff during event prep and service, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to timelines
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and inventory control of event-specific ingredients and supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with department policies and Department of Health
  • Set schedules and specific job duties while maintaining proper staffing
  • Hold daily team member huddle sessions and maintain communication boards
  • Maintain professional composure in high-pressure environments
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations
  • Treat team members with dignity, fairness, and respect
  • Ensure kitchens and equipment comply with health and safety guidelines
  • Provide support and maintain necessary materials and supplies
  • Properly maintain team member records
