Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant experience in banquet or event services management
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with computers and point of sale software
- Ability to lead, motivate, and train a diverse team
- Physical ability to conduct daily walkthroughs and manage event setups
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Completion of a background check
- Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in banquet or event services management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Creative and detail-oriented approach to event planning and decor
- Proficient in general computer knowledge and point of sale systems
- Previous experience as an Event Services Manager or Assistant preferred
- Ability to motivate and develop staff towards achieving service excellence
- Understanding of food and beverage functions and hotel operations
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest services and improving service scores
Job Duties
- Support and manage the Banquet Department while collaborating closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments
- Supervise, empower, lead, coach, and motivate the banquet team including captains, servers, and bartenders to achieve exceptional guest service and associate engagement
- Assist in achieving top box service scores on meeting planner surveys through thorough communication and understanding of banquet event orders
- Ensure timely and appropriate setup of all functions and meetings, maintaining high standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications
- Proactively review staffing and equipment needs to ensure efficient event execution
- Coordinate and execute all events with Culinary, Stewarding, and Sales/Event teams
- Maintain a high energy, positive, and professional appearance while developing innovative and creative decor for banquet function spaces
- Create and implement short and long-term banquet function plans for front and back of house operations
- Facilitate administrative tasks including payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory, and budgeting for food and beverage functions
- Perform daily walk-throughs of banquet department and function spaces to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
- Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
