Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • previous event planning experience
  • ability to work flexible schedules based on business demands
  • ability to handle physical demands including lifting up to 50lbs
  • comfort working in a shared, noisy environment
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • knowledge of hospitality event management software
  • willingness to participate in sales and catering meetings
  • commitment to client satisfaction and teamwork

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title
  • previous event planning experience
  • experience within luxury brand or markets preferred
  • advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
  • ability to work well under stress
  • knowledge of CI/TY or Delphi systems
  • knowledge of staffing guidelines for function spaces
  • knowledge of top accounts for the hotel
  • familiarity with legal and contractual agreements

Job Duties

  • create detailed event orders to meet client specifications
  • manage room blocks, food and beverage requirements, meeting room setups, billing, and additional client needs
  • communicate and enforce contractual agreements
  • collect attrition charges owed
  • submit guest checks, payments, master folios, and deposits to accounting
  • post Rewarding Events points after events
  • collaborate with culinary operations on custom menus
  • maintain documentation of events, changes, and special requests
  • facilitate event order and group resume meetings
  • organize and conduct site visits and pre/post-conference meetings
  • serve as on-site client contact during events
  • be present at event start and remain until meal service begins
  • maximize revenue through upselling hotel services
  • coordinate with vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • generate thank you notes and service evaluations
  • greet clients on arrival
  • utilize required systems to track group progress
  • maintain accurate and organized sales platform records
  • participate in sales and catering conference calls
  • complete required reporting and documentation
