Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
prior experience in food service or catering preferred
ability to operate small vehicles such as vans or trucks if required
obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Certification
ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

prior experience in food service or catering preferred
good communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work well in a team environment
knowledge of food safety practices
valid Food Handler's Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
punctuality and reliability
ability to follow instructions and multitask effectively
basic physical ability to lift and stand for long periods

Job Duties

confirm event information with the direct supervisor - driving and parking directions, uniform requirements, timing, etc
meet at the shop or on-site depending on the event
drive small vehicles, vans, or trucks depending on comfort level
arrive on time dressed in the proper uniform
follow the instructions of the direct supervisor while on site
maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
follow health and safety practices at all times
unload vehicle and assist with event set-up including setting up tables/chairs, arranging buffet decor, placing food service items/equipment
attend a pre-event meeting
provide courteous and polite client and guest relations, create a great guest experience and customer satisfaction, anticipate guest's needs
follow directions and locations of bussing and clearing stations
handle safely all equipment, glassware, and plate ware
clear dishes and glassware when needed
pick up trash and keep all guest areas clean
assist with food preparation if required and assigned
maintain a neat and visually appealing buffet and clear trash as needed
work with a positive attitude while maintaining teamwork and efficiency
seek counsel from the direct supervisor when needed
be courteous and attentive to guests during the event
provide friendly service to guests ensuring a positive experience and customer needs are met
break down and clean up buffet and food service equipment
repackage unused food for repurposing
clean all areas and leave them cleaner than found
check out with direct supervisor before clocking out
clock in and clock out at beginning and end of shift
maintain accurate profile of availability on staffing applicator
obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Certification
