Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales or event planning experience preferred
  • bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of hotel and/or food and beverage experience preferred
  • previous selling experience required
  • experience working and meeting a quota required
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with public and team members
  • understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts
  • comprehensive knowledge of all hotel operational departments including guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio visual, banquets, accounting, restaurants and engineering
  • knowledge of meeting room setups and capabilities and sleeping room configurations and types

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales or event planning experience
  • completed event management trainee program or comparable experience preferred
  • bachelor’s degree or 2 years of hotel and/or food and beverage experience preferred
  • previous selling experience
  • experience working to meet a quota
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • understanding of negotiation and contract interpretation
  • comprehensive knowledge of hotel operational departments
  • knowledge of meeting room setups and sleeping room configurations

Job Duties

  • Sell banquet food and beverage services
  • plan menus and set event agendas
  • review contracts and facilitate communication with hotel staff
  • host hotel tours and maintain strong customer relationships
  • participate and lead event and staff meetings
  • collaborate as a team member with sales and events staff
  • work closely with assigned administrative assistant and support staff
