Job Requirements

  • Four year degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Previous experience in providing service to others and administrative support in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet varying deadlines
  • Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • Proven sales and customer service skills
  • Ability to enjoy interacting with others and creating experiences beyond expectations

Job Duties

  • Strategically solicit corporate and social event business in the local and regional area
  • Quickly and professionally respond to all event inquiries
  • Establish strong rapport with clients, maintaining strong communication throughout the sales process
  • Develop close relationships with clients to determine needs and expectations
  • Work closely with Associate Director of Events and Event Manager as well as accounting to ensure billing and deposits are made timely according to contract
  • Utilize iVvy to track inquiries, communication with clients, and deadlines
  • Maintain up-to-date activity logs and documentation as required
  • Conduct sales calls, webinars, and presentations to potential clients
  • Attend local trade shows, networking events, and wedding fairs representing the hotel appropriately
  • Coordinate and conduct site tours for potential clients
  • Explain and execute all contractual terms to customers
  • Follow up with clients following the event for client feedback
  • Welcome incoming guests with a courteous and professional attitude
  • Responsible for reaching budgeted monthly and quarterly goals as assigned
  • Attend appropriate hotel, division, and department meetings
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Lake Nona and Lake Nona Wave Hotel
  • Capitalize on up-selling to maximize night stays and maximize rates
  • Focus on yield management strategies
  • Communicate all pertinent information to the conventions/catering team
  • Handle walk-in inquiries
  • Responsible for tracking calls and inquiries that are turnaways
  • Resolve guest problems and empowered to act in absence of directors/supervisors
  • Make decisions on VIP status and communicate appropriately
  • Maintain strong communications with Conventions, Front Desk, Concierge, and Bell service
  • Communicate effectively with the resort staff to ensure communication of all services expected
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of all hotel amenities and special events
  • Interact with hotel team members in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Upsell other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Maintain awareness of safety issues and report all safety incidents
  • Act responsibly toward company property, supplies, and equipment
  • Maintain a professional appearance following dress code standards
  • Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues
  • Act as an active member and contributor to the group sales team
  • Assume responsibility for all assigned local accounts
  • Maintain and execute all defined booking standards and criteria
  • Execute approved catering contracts and all terms and conditions
  • Work directly with clients to secure contracts and collect on agreements
  • Suggest activities/products to clients from outside the hotel and book accordingly
  • Assist catering servicing managers with monitoring group's billing status, deposits, and payments
  • Seek new approaches to grow business and guest satisfaction
  • Ensure highest guest satisfaction
  • Comply with all Lake Nona Wave Hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations
