Job Requirements

  • be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
  • able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and academic breaks
  • commit to working 10 or more hours per week
  • complete all training requirements within the first five weeks of employment
  • possess the ability to physically lift up to 45 pounds
  • maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average
  • eligible to work on campus and employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS)
  • participate in all scheduled meetings, trainings, and evaluations

Job Qualifications

  • be a current UF degree-seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
  • demonstrate previous experience with customer service
  • possess proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain
  • show a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • establish exemplary work ethic by being proactive, self-motivated, and dependable

Job Duties

  • physically set up tables, chairs, stages, audio-visual equipment, and other furniture consistent with room diagrams
  • provide technical support for events occurring at the Reitz Union
  • interpret Event Management System (EMS) documents to determine event requirements and setups
  • respond to calls for assistance via two-way radio and provide customer service support
  • assist with transportation, distribution, and redistribution of office furniture and event equipment
  • conduct equipment inventories and complete minor repairs
  • maintain furniture and audio-visual equipment in meeting rooms and storage areas
  • operate sound reinforcement and lighting systems to support live events
  • perform other duties as assigned
