The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM) is a dedicated cultural institution committed to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage and history of the African American community in San Antonio, Texas. Founded with the mission to collect, preserve, and share the stories and contributions of African Americans in the region, the museum serves as a vital educational resource and cultural hub for residents and visitors alike. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, arts administration, or related field
  • minimum 5 years experience in event production management
  • experience managing nonprofit or community-based events
  • proficiency in budget management and vendor coordination
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness

  • Proven experience in producing large-scale cultural or heritage events
  • strong project management and operational leadership skills
  • expertise in event planning and logistics
  • ability to coordinate multiple vendors effectively
  • excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Plan event and coordinate pre-production activities
  • oversee budget management and logistics
  • manage vendor relationships and coordination
  • execute audio, visual, lighting, and entertainment production
  • provide on-site production management during the event
  • prepare post-event reports for evaluation
  • ensure cultural competency throughout all phases of production
