Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year minimum hotel sales or catering experience
  • Reliable transportation and valid state driver's license for outside sales calls
  • Ability to hear, speak, read and write English fluently
  • Effective verbal communication and business writing skills
  • Dexterity and mobility to meet clients on and off premises and operate office equipment
  • Vision to read fine print and computer screens
  • Ability to work in an office environment and occasionally in weather exposure when making sales calls

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general sales techniques
  • Yield management experience

Job Duties

  • Execute all aspects of event planning including meetings, reunions, social functions and catering
  • Coordinate all group business as developed by the sales manager and follow up on all signed contracts within 5 working days
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure meetings and related functions meet client expectations
  • Conduct appointment-oriented direct sales calls to promote catering sales with reliable transportation
  • Maximize key account management by identifying and developing revenue growth opportunities
  • Capture new accounts through networking, research, and solicitation targeting competitor accounts
  • Maintain well-documented and organized client files and develop customer profiles for superior account service
