Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event planning
  • bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of hotel and/or food and beverage experience preferred
  • general computer knowledge
  • desire to satisfy others’ needs in fast-paced environment
  • refined verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • professional appearance and confidence
  • extremely detail oriented and organized
  • ability to handle fast paced environment
  • strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • understanding of negotiation and contract interpretation
  • comprehensive operational knowledge of hotel departments
  • positive leadership
  • knowledge of meeting room setups and sleeping room types
  • immediate response to meeting planner requests
  • creation, review and revision of rooming and VIP lists
  • management of meeting spaces to maximize revenue
  • price integrity maintenance
  • pre-check room setups
  • relay of forecast information
  • interaction with planners and vendors
  • management of existing accounts and re-solicitation of clients
  • increasing revenue per attendee via upselling and strategies
  • experience creating and writing menus

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event planning experience
  • bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of hotel and/or food and beverage experience preferred
  • experienced in general computer knowledge and programs
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to communicate effectively with public and team members
  • professional appearance and confidence
  • extremely detail oriented and organized
  • strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts
  • comprehensive knowledge of hotel operational departments
  • positive leadership characteristics
  • knowledge of meeting room setups and sleeping room configurations
  • ability to respond immediately to requests by meeting planners
  • experience creating and writing event menus
  • preferred completion of PSS or equivalent training

Job Duties

  • Administering the sales agreement
  • detailing all food, beverage and audiovisual needs
  • managing room blocks and pick up
  • managing meeting spaces
  • overseeing billing instructions and final review
  • serving as on-site contact for events
  • ensuring smooth execution of all events
