Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year minimum hotel sales or catering experience
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Effective verbal communication and business writing skills
  • Dexterity and mobility to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, attend functions, climb stairs, use keys, and operate office equipment
  • Vision to read fine print and computer screens, perceive colors, and inspect rooms in low-light conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general sales techniques

Job Duties

  • Execute all aspects of event planning including meetings, reunions, social functions, and catering
  • Coordinate business operations from the signing of group contracts onward
  • Manage direct billing requirements, catering, event details, VIP needs, amenities, group resumes, rooming lists, registration cards
  • Target, capture, and coordinate catering sales
  • Develop new catering accounts and plan and coordinate all components of group business
  • Ensure seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales
  • Lead and support the events team
  • Serve as the primary contact for event planners post-sale to ensure exceptional client experience
  • Achieve at least 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals set by management
  • Communicate effectively with departments to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Conduct appointment-oriented direct sales calls
  • Manage key accounts and develop new accounts to maximize revenue growth
  • Follow up on leads promptly to create new business opportunities
  • Maintain organized and accurate file management
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles
  • Build strong customer relationships through professional communication
  • Manage time focusing on revenue-producing activities and maximize selling time
  • Control expenses and represent the hotel with integrity
  • Display a neat, clean, business-like appearance
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
  • Identify and solve operational challenges
  • Improve service performance
  • Foster positive guest relations
  • Celebrate and recognize team contributions
