Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in catering and rooms within the hospitality industry
  • proven record of customer service excellence
  • availability to work varied shifts including nights and weekends
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • leadership experience preferred
  • ability to use hotel management software
  • commitment to operational excellence and teamwork

Job Duties

  • Prepare event documentation and coordinate with sales and hotel departments
  • plan, organize, and manage in-house details for group and convention bookings
  • participate in negotiating meetings and function requirements
  • monitor and control event budgets and details to maximize revenue and quality
  • communicate proactively with customers regarding event details and follow up post-event
  • act as liaison between hotel and customer throughout event phases
  • lead pre-event and post-event meetings and facilitate event-related planning sessions
  • manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
  • greet customers during event phases and ensure smooth handoff to operations team
  • enforce adherence to standards, policies, and procedures
  • integrate industry trends into event planning
  • proactively identify and solve operational challenges related to events
  • participate in daily and weekly meetings to ensure operational alignment
  • maintain and update communication processes and SOPs
  • ensure compliance with group room and banquet attrition guidelines
  • support team goal setting and resource agreement
  • develop systems to track event information
  • make timely decisions under pressure
  • assign accountability and monitor implementation to assure successful event outcomes
  • ensure high level of guest satisfaction and build long-term client relationships
  • display leadership in guest hospitality
